Less than half the population of Western Canada lives in major urban centres and has access to critical care within minutes. For the other half, such access is measured in hours. That can mean the difference between life and death; full recovery or permanent damage.

With STARS, those living in rural communities, working in remote areas, travelling on highways or being transported from community hospitals to major medical centres, receive the very best in critical care via helicopters staffed and outfitted as mobile ICUs. That’s why RME and its employees are actively raising funds in 2019 to support this non-profit.

You never know who in your community may need help—no matter where you live, work or travel in Western Canada. RME and its employees are embarking in a year-long employee matching campaign to raise money to donate to this critically important service in rural communities.

All funds raised by RME will go towards STARS Mission Operations to help maintain the fleet of medically outfitted helicopters; allow air medical crews to receive cutting-edge training; ensure STARS pilots and engineers are operating at the top of their field; and provide support for the STARS Emergency Link Centre in coordinating hundreds of emergency calls each week. Rocky Mountain Equipment’s donation will ensure each patient receives critical care in-flight and is transported to the hospital in the most efficient and safest way possible.
