For the last 32 years, one RME employee has been able to call the Parts counter his second home. Spending 15 of those years with RME, Parts Manager Austin Leamon has been a friendly and familiar face for many of our customers and employees.

Starting out as a parts delivery driver for local automotive businesses in Newfoundland, Austin discovered how much he enjoyed working within the parts industry and decided to pursue it further.

“In 2005, I moved from Newfoundland to Brandon, MB, to work at a GM dealership. A year later, my family wanted to move further West, and – at that time – a parts position opened for Hi-Way Services, so I applied.”

July 2, 2006 marks the first day Austin worked with the company that would later become RME.

Starting out as a Parts Technician, Austin had received training through CNH and RME, then when the position for Parts Manager opened up at the Balzac branch 11 years ago, Austin applied and has been in that role ever since.

David Calon, Shop Foreman at RME’s Balzac location and Austin’s coworker, said he is a very dedicated employee.

“He’s always available, even when he’s on vacation, to ensure his customers are being taken care of. He also arrives early every day to stock parts on the shelf,” said David.

When it all comes down to it, his customers and employees are his top priority.

“Over the years, I have made great friends here and I still feel like I work for a family business. The biggest thing for me at the end of the day is my employees and the customers that we serve,” said Austin.

By being dedicated and doing Right By Our Customers and RME’s employees, Austin ensures the Parts department at RME Balzac runs smoothly and efficiently to keep our customers producing at their highest potential.
