Officially incorporated in 2007, Blackie Site Works Ltd. has become a familiar company within the area of High River, AB, for any excavation, site servicing, and screw piling project that needed to get done.

Started by Harvey Leslie and Mike Kendal, the two built their business from the ground up with only a couple of pieces of equipment, and a heavy knowledge of the construction industry.

“I’ve been in construction my whole life, I’m a Civil Engineer Tech so I’ve been doing it for quite some time,” said Harvey. “Mike was interested in getting into the business; he was an equipment operator at the time.”

Specifically located within Aldersyde, AB, which is only a few minutes outside of High River, Blackie Site Works Ltd. specializes in excavation such as site preparation and grading, roads, ponds, dams, and dugouts, riverbank rehabilitation/restoration, and sewer/water installations. They also take on projects such as HDPE piping, site drainage, water and sewer main replacements, and demolition and site clean-ups.

To complete their various projects, Blackie Site Works Ltd. has a large array of construction equipment to ensure the job is done efficiently. One of the favourites amongst the fleet is a 1997 CASE 550 dozer, which Harvey bought brand new 23 years ago.

“It’s basically vintage at this point and to this day, we still use it. You can walk out anytime and fire it up and use it.”

Among other brands, Blackie Site Works Ltd. calls on a CASE CX80 excavator, two CASE CX210 excavators, a CASE 250, a CASE 300 and a CASE 350 excavator, a CASE SV212 drum roller, and a few CASE skidsteers for their projects.

“We’ve had very good history. We’ve gone with the CASE excavators ever since our very first one and we’re not hesitant to buy them because of the history we’ve had with them,” said Harvey. “There’s been times where I’ve pulled up onto a site and it’s all CASE and I think to myself ‘Gee, wouldn’t CASE like to get a picture of that!’”

Harvey and Mike began working with RME around the same time he began building up his company.

“We bought our first CASE 210 excavator from RME sometime in 2007 and I’ve been working with Dallas for the past eight years. He’s good, I enjoy working with him. He’s very helpful.”

By ensuring we are doing Right By Blackie Site Works Ltd., RME ensures they have the machines they need to get the job done.
